Basil Seed Drink

A refreshing beverage made from soaked basil seeds that may help curb cravings and support hydration during dieting.

Ingredients

  • Basil seeds (1 to 2 teaspoons)
  • Cold or room-temperature water (1 cup)
  • Fresh lemon or lime juice (1 teaspoon)
  • Natural sweetener like honey or stevia (optional, 1 teaspoon)
  • Ice cubes or chilled water (optional)

Instructions

  1. Measure and rinse the seeds under cool water to remove dust.
  2. Soak the seeds in water for 10 to 15 minutes until they swell.
  3. Prepare the flavor base by squeezing lemon or lime juice into a glass, add sweetener if using.
  4. Combine the hydrated seeds into the flavored liquid and check texture.
  5. Chill and serve over ice or refrigerate for up to 24 hours.

Notes

Stir before serving as the seeds may settle. Consume within 24 hours for best texture and flavor.
